Meliá Hotels International is the corporate brand of the Spanish hotel giant. As such, and among others, it is responsible for managing and presenting relevant information for skateholders that is not directly related to the communication of products or services but to business information of a financial and business nature.

One of the annual milestones is the publication of the Annual Report, which presents the milestones and achievements reached every twelve months, at a business, economic and financial level. For this purpose, a results report is published in a PDF version and its corresponding online version, the design of which we will undertake at the beginning of 2017. This edition was especially important as it commemorated the brand’s 60th anniversary.

One of the fundamental challenges of the project was to transform the sequential reading of the PDF document into web browsing, as well as to define the usability and interaction of the application to facilitate access to and understanding of the information displayed: behaviours, animations, access routes, etc. This process required an exhaustive analysis of all the information and the organization of it in a minimum of master pages to reduce the task of the company designated to perform the programming.

The project, carried out in our stage as Mandarina Creativos, shows that the same brand has different needs in terms of design, communication and interaction depending on the audience it is aimed at and the message it wants to convey, creating different brand experiences, consistent with each other.
